According to exclusive reports reaching Kickgh.com, Tanzanian heavyweights Young Africans SC have expressed strong interest in signing Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori in the just-opened transfer window.
The 30-year-old was released just recently by South African giants Orlando Pirates and is unattached at the moment and at liberty to join any club of his choice.
The stalwart goalie joined the Buccaneers in 2020 after an impressive spell with Maritzburg United and really dominated the post for three consecutive seasons and was an integral member of their squad that made the CAF Confederations Cup final in 2022.
However, he lost his position last season and made only three appearances for the Orlando Stadium-based side.
However, reports from trusted and reliable sources are that, there are lots of clubs keeping tabs on Ofori at the moment but Tanzanian champions Young Africans look like the front runners having already started negotiations with the player's entourage.
The fourteen-time Tanzanian champions per speculations, are pushing harder to lure the service of the Black Stars shot-stopper to provide competition for Mali's Djigui Diarra.
Richard Ofori has been with the Ghana senior men national team since 2015- having made 33 appearances so far and captained the team in most of the matches at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations
