The German elite side are currently sweating on their teenage sensation of Ghanaian descent in their effort to retain his services beyond the next football season

Bundesliga side FC Köln are keen to keep hold of their German-born Ghanaian teenager Justin Diehl following great interest from admirers ahead of the next transfer window.

The 18-year-old is believed to be on the radar of many clubs across Europe, with his representatives already in a locked up of negotiations with interested suitors as his client is set to enter into the free agent pool in June this year.

FC Köln manager Steffen Baumgart is hell-bent to retain the promising teenager following his plans to draft him into the senior ranks of his team set-up given his splendid showings so far with the U-19 youth ranks.

''The boy makes a good impression, we like the boy. It's my job to work with him and, if you let me, make him a Bundesliga player. For the time being, we are firmly convinced of this,'' the German tactician said to Cologne-based tabloid Express.de of his prized asset on the growing interest from suitors over his services.

Diehl has so far made 10 league appearances by scoring 5 goals for FC Köln in the ongoing U19 Bundesliga West 22/23 football season.

His current deal with the RheinEnergieStadion outfit will expire on June 30, 2023 and interested clubs could easily snap up his signature should both parties fail to come to consensus over fresh terms next season.

The Koln-born promising star is still eligible to play for Ghana at the international level despite featuring for the Germany U-16, U-18 & U-19 national youth teams.
