The 21-year-old defender has linked up with the relegated French top-flight outfit on a permanent basis following his loan stint last term
Relegated French Ligue 1 side FC Lorient have announced the permanent signing of Ghanaian centre-back Nathaniel Adjei.
The promising rearguard is joining the Lorient-based club from Swedish Allsvanskan side Hammarby IF this summer.
Having had an impressive loan outings during the 2023/24 football season, the Les Merlus have exercised their purchase option on landing the 21-year-old permanently and will now spend the upcoming season with them in the lower division campaign.
An official confirmation over the deal reads: "
"FC Lorient is pleased to announce that Nathaniel Adjei (21 years old) will continue his adventure with Merlus."
"FC Lorient has decided to exercise the purchase option for the Ghanaian defender, who was on loan during the second part of last season in Morbihan (15 matches).
"Nathaniel trained at Danbort FC, a club in Accra, Ghana, before joining Sweden and more specifically Hammarby in the summer of 2021. He wore the colors of the Swedish club 32 times including 2 matches in the Europa League Conference."
Adjei played in 18 games across all competitions for FC Lorient during the Ligue 1 23/24 campaign.
He's yet to earn his international cap with the Ghana men's senior national team, the Black Stars.
