FC Nordsjaelland manager Jens Fønsskov Olsen has praised the legendary Ghanaian footballer Michael Essien for his significant contribution to the club, emphasizing his role in helping young players transition into the first team.

Since retiring from professional football, the former Chelsea midfielder has been working as an individual talent coach at the Danish Superliga side. Essien plays a crucial role in preparing and mentoring the club’s younger players, sharing his vast experience from playing at the highest levels.

Speaking about Essien’s impact, Olsen highlighted the former Ghana international’s attention to detail and his ability to offer insightful guidance to the players.

"First of all, it has been great meeting Michael Essien. He has a great personality and a lot of charisma. He is here to support the young guys. Having played football at a high level in different cultures, he brings a lot of experience to the table," Olsen told *Joy Sports*.

"Essien has a role that’s slightly behind the scenes. He is excellent at focusing on small details and preparing the players in our style of play. His experience at the top level helps him provide valuable feedback, both in training and when reviewing match clips," Olsen added.

Essien, who had a decorated playing career, won numerous trophies with Chelsea and earned 59 caps for the Black Stars of Ghana.
