West Ham United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka has admitted that he was taken aback by the physical strength of his new teammate, Mohammed Kudus, describing the Ghanaian as difficult to face on the pitch.
Wan-Bissaka, who joined West Ham from Manchester United during the summer transfer window, expressed his admiration for Kudus' ability on the ball after their encounters in training.
"Kudus and Bowen are definitely the toughest players I've faced here," said Wan-Bissaka when asked about his challenging matchups at West Ham.
"With Kudus, I knew he was strong, but I didn't realize how strong. You can't get the ball off him, literally. I'm happy to be on the same team with him. It’s great to see and play alongside him," he added.
Kudus, who joined West Ham from Ajax in the same transfer window, is still adjusting to life in the Premier League. Though he has yet to register a goal or an assist in league play, the Black Stars midfielder made an impact in the EFL Cup, providing the decisive assist in West Ham's 1-0 win over Bournemouth.
As the Hammers look to bounce back from their third Premier League loss of the season against Chelsea, Kudus will be aiming to make his mark in their upcoming clash with Brentford and the EFL Cup tie against Liverpool on September 25, 2024.
