Cremonese are closing in on the signing of AS Roma forward Felix Afena-Gyan after agreeing personal terms with the Ghanaian, Kickgh.com can confirm.
Following their promotion to the Serie A, the Grigiorossi are set to make a transfer splash of €7m with no add-ons as sources have confirmed that an agreement has been reached with Roma to bring the 19-year-old to Stadio Giovanni Zini.
Afena-Gyan is now due to head to the northern-central part of Italy to undergo a medical which, if all goes to plan, will see the forward become Cremonese's 8th signing of the summer - following Joshua Tenkorang, Johan Vasquez, Paolo Ghiglione, Santiago Ascacibar, Charles Pickel, Tommaso Milanese and GIanluca Saro through the arrivals door, the first-mentioned of whom is an Italian-born of Ghanaian descent.
Afena-Gyan will come in to provide some much-needed competition at the striking department for Daniel Ciofani and Cristian Buonaiuto.
Roma have made a strong start to the 2022-23 season, having won each of their two Serie A games played so far, however, Afena-Gyan has been an unused substitute in each game so far this season.
