Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu is on track to make his AS Monaco debut in the next two to three weeks, even though he has resumed group training.

The 24-year-old has been on a lengthy road to recovery, undergoing surgery in September to address a pubaglia groin injury. Since his transfer from Southampton to the French giants during the summer, the towering center-back has yet to make an appearance for his new club.

This week, Salisu, formerly with Real Valladolid, rejoined his teammates for practice as he approaches full fitness. According to General Director Thiago Scuro, Mohammed Salisu is expected to be fully cleared for action in approximately two to three weeks. Scuro stated, "We hope to see him in the group within the next two or three weeks to start getting some playing time," in an interview with RMC Sport.

As a result, Salisu is set to miss Ghana's opening matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros this month. He has not made a competitive appearance for either his club or the national team since March 2023 when he featured in Southampton's 3-3 draw against Tottenham.
