Ghanaian forward Bernard Tekpetey has been ranked as the second-best striker in the recently concluded Bulgarian League campaign.

Tekpetey had an outstanding season with Ludogorets, playing a pivotal role in their league title and domestic cup victories. The former Black Stars striker netted 10 goals in 30 league appearances and was ranked just behind Krumovgrad striker Alexander Kolev, who scored 15 goals in 33 games, on the "Heroes of the Circle" show.

In addition to his goal-scoring prowess, Tekpetey provided five assists throughout the campaign. Out of the 30 games he played, he started in 27 and came off the bench in three.

The Ghana international was closely followed by his teammate Ruan Kroos, who was just one goal behind the top scorer Alexander Kolev. The Top 5 rankings were rounded out by Atanas Iliev and Marin Petkov.

Despite his impressive performances and recognition in the Team of the Season, Tekpetey missed out on the Black Stars squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifying games against Mali and the Central African Republic due to injury.

The Ghanaian national team is aiming for positive results in the upcoming matches after a mixed start to the qualifiers, having secured a win and a defeat against Madagascar and Comoros, respectively.
