Ghanaian young winger Evans Botchway opened his goal-scoring account for IF Brommapojkarna in their resounding 4-1 home win over Halmstads BK in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Saturday evening.
Botchway, who was introduced in the 83rd minute of the game, needed only two minutes to register his first-ever goal for the Red and Black lads at the Grimsta IP Stadium.
It was a thrilling encounter in the opening minutes as two own goals were produced in the first twenty-six minutes of the game, with Marcus Olsson scoring at the wrong net in the first minute for IF Brommapojkarna, while Andre Calisir also connected a weaker shot into the home side's net to give Halmstads BK the equalizer in the 26th minute.
Duo Adam Jakobsen and Alex Timossi Andersson registered their names on the score sheet in the 36th and 45th minutes, respectively, to give the hosts a 3-1 lead into the second half of the game.
The former Accra Lions attacker scored his debut goal in the 85th minute to seal their 4-1 home victory over Halmstads BK in their match-week 17 fixture.
Botchway has made six appearances for IF Brommapojkarna in the ongoing Swedish top-flight league season, with a goal to his credit.
He joined IF Brommapojkarna on a long-term contract in April 2024 from Ghana Premier League side Accra Lions.
