Former Accra Shooting Stars FC midfielder Mawuli Kwame Mensah Vadze was named in Real Betis matchday squad for their La Liga opener against Elche on Monday after having an impressive pre-season.
The 21-year-old Ghanaian hotshot was included among Manuel Pellegrini’s matchday squad for the 1-1 draw at the Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero, although he remained an unused substitute.
Mensah, a highly rated central midfielder, impressed during Betis’ pre-season preparations with his composure and creativity in the middle of the park.
His performances drew praise from both fans and technical staff, with many tipping him to push for a regular place in the squad this season.
His inclusion reflects Betis’ continued faith in youth development and Mensah’s determination to progress from a promising talent into a first-team regular.
The creative lynchpin will be aiming to make his competitive debut for the Verdiblancos as the 2025/26 campaign unfolds.
