German Bundesliga outfit Union Berlin have reportedly reached an agreement with Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray to sign Ghanaian left-back Derrick Köhn.
The 25-year-old defender spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Werder Bremen, where he impressed with 27 appearances and two goals. Despite returning to Galatasaray with hopes of competing for a place in Okan Buruk’s squad, regular playing time appeared unlikely, prompting negotiations for a move away.
Werder Bremen were initially keen on making his loan permanent, but talks with Galatasaray broke down earlier this month. Union Berlin have since stepped in and are now on the verge of finalizing a €5 million deal, which also includes a sell-on clause guaranteeing Galatasaray a share of any future transfer.
Köhn’s move will see him return to the Bundesliga, where he established himself as a reliable left-back during his loan stint with Bremen.
