Ghana international Frank Acheampong was on the scoresheet for Henan FC, but his goal was not enough to stop a 2–1 defeat to Yunnan Yukun in the Chinese Super League on Thursday.
Acheampong opened the scoring in the 29th minute with a composed finish after a quick counter-attack, giving Henan an early lead at the Yuxi Plateau Sports Center Stadium.
However, the hosts responded with two goals in the second half (59th and 84th minutes) to complete the comeback and claim all three points.
The result leaves Henan in 12th position with 14 points on the league table, as they keep struggling for consistency.
Acheampong, 31, has now scored five goals, providing one assist in the current campaign, as he continues to play a key role in the club’s attacking setup.
Henan FC have struggled for form in recent weeks, and the defeat to newly promoted Yunnan Yukun adds pressure as the league reaches its mid-season stage.
The former Anderlecht and Tianjin TEDA winger remains one of the most experienced Ghanaian players in the Chinese top flight. Known for his pace and direct style, Acheampong has been a regular feature for Henan since joining the club in 2023.
