Ghanaian forward Frank Acheampong was on target for Dalian Yingbo, but his side suffered a 3-1 comeback defeat to Yunnan Yukun in the Chinese Super League on Sunday.
Acheampong opened the scoring in the 13th minute to give Dalian an early advantage as they looked to secure a positive result in the 23rd round of the competition.
Dalian, however, were reduced to 10 men later in the game, making the task more difficult for the visitors as Yunnan Yukun pushed for a response.
Acheampong was substituted in the 74th minute after putting in a strong shift for Dalian as the hosts continued to increase the pressure.
Yunnan Yukun eventually turned the game around with three goals in the final 18 minutes plus additional time to complete a dramatic comeback.
Despite taking the lead through Acheampong, Dalian could not hold on as the numerical disadvantage proved costly in the closing stages of the contest.
Dalian Yingbo will now look to bounce back in their next Chinese Super League fixture when they face Tongliang Long as they seek to return to winning ways.
