French Ligue 1 side RC Strasbourg are exploring a move for Chelsea academy defender Genesis Antwi as they look to strengthen their right side of defence before the close of the summer transfer window.
According to reports, Strasbourg have already opened discussions with Chelsea, with negotiations expected to continue in the coming days. The move is considered feasible given the shared ownership between the two clubs under BlueCo, which has already facilitated several player exchanges.
The 18-year-old Swedish-Ghanaian right-back has been on Strasbourg’s radar for some time and recently visited the French club’s training ground to get a closer look at their setup.
Antwi has enjoyed a rapid rise at Chelsea in recent months. He made his senior debut in the UEFA Conference League last season, featuring twice and handling the step-up with composure. This summer, he further impressed in friendlies, notably providing an assist against Manchester City’s reserve side and producing a strong display against Bayer Leverkusen.
With Strasbourg eager to inject youthful energy and potential into their squad, Antwi’s versatility and dynamism on the right flank make him an appealing option for manager Liam Rosenior as the new season approaches.
If the deal goes through, Antwi would follow in the footsteps of other Chelsea academy products who have used Strasbourg as a platform to gain valuable first-team experience.
