The defender of Ghanaian descent has completed his move to the German third tier outfit in the ongoing summer transfer window
German-born Ghanaian centre-back Aaron Frimpong Manu has joined Bundesliga 3 side Rot-Weiss Essen on a two-year deal, the club have announced.
The 23-year-old gangling defender finished his free transfer move to the Stadion Essen outfit after exhausting his deal with Regionalliga (fourth tier) side Rot-Weiß Erfurt in the just concluded season.
A statement confirming the capturing of the 1.94m tall defender reads: "Aaron Manu is now wearing the Rot-Weiss Essen jersey . The 1.94 meter tall central defender last played for FC Rot-Weiss Erfurt , with whom he finished third in the last regional league season, and is now signing a contract at Hafenstrasse until 2025.''
Before severing ties with the Regionalliga Northeast 22/23 campaigners, he featured in 30 league games, scoring once and assisting twice during the entire season.
Having been born and raised in Germany by Ghanaian parents, the bulky centre-back is eligible to represent Ghana on the international stage as he is yet to be capped by the Germany national team.
