Ghanaian defender Jan Kwasi Gyamerah was on target for SV Elversberg on Saturday afternoon, scoring his maiden goal for the club in their emphatic 4-1 triumph over Eintracht Braunschweig in the German Bundesliga II.

The 30-year-old, who joined Elversberg ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, struck in the 23rd minute to restore his side’s advantage, marking his first goal in just his fifth appearance for the club.

Elversberg got off to a flying start when Younes Ebnoutalib latched onto a clever pass from Lukasz Poreba and finished neatly in the 12th minute. Braunschweig responded quickly as Erencan Yardimci levelled the score in the 20th minute.

Gyamerah, however, stepped up just three minutes later, showing calmness inside the box to slot home and make it 2-1. His timely strike shifted the momentum back in Elversberg’s favour, laying the foundation for a dominant second-half display.

Ebnoutalib doubled his tally in the 79th minute, before midfielder Frederik Schmahl sealed the win with an 86th-minute strike to cap off an impressive team performance.

The result cements Elversberg’s place at the top of the Bundesliga II table after a blistering start to the season. Gyamerah’s goal and commanding display underline his growing importance to the team as they chase promotion to the Bundesliga.

With his wealth of top-flight experience in Germany, the Hamburg-born defender continues to provide Elversberg with versatility and leadership, making him a cornerstone of their ambitious campaign.
