The Flingeraner have reinforced their defensive line options with the acquisition of the 21-year-old defender of Ghanaian heritage and will be spending time with the U23 side in this current campaign

Fortuna Düsseldorf ll have announced the signing of German-born Ghanaian defender Kaden Amaniampong from VfB Stuttgart II.

The talented right-back was brought in by the Merkur Spiel-Arena campaigners so as to augment their U23 team for the rest of the ongoing Regionalliga contest this season.

A club statement confirming the signing of the former FC Köln youth product read: ''Fortuna Düsseldorf has signed Kaden Amaniampong for their U23 team. The 21-year-old joins the Flingeraner from VfB Stuttgart II and will strengthen the Red and Whites' Regionalliga squad.

''Kaden Amaniampong played for Bonner SC, 1. FC Köln, and Viktoria Köln at the youth level before joining the Regionalliga side Hessen Kassel on loan in the 2023/24 season. Since the summer of 2024, the defender has played for VfB Stuttgart II. In the 2025/26 season, he made seven appearances in the 3. Liga.''

Sporting director of the youth team Stefan Vollmerhausen said of the signing of the Ghanaian defender to his club's official website: ''We are delighted that we were able to convince Kaden to join Fortuna. With him, we are gaining a very well-trained player who is versatile in defense. Furthermore, despite his young age, he has already gained experience in both the 3. Liga and the Regionalliga. His abilities perfectly match our desired profile, and he will strengthen our team immediately.”

Amaniampong, who is born to former Ghana international Nana Amaniampong, still remains eligible to switch international allegiance and play for Ghana on the international stage.
