The 20-year-old forward of Ghanaian heritage is set to be sidelined for many part of the current campaign as a result of a muscle strain whiles on international duty with Die Nationalelf 

German-born Ghanaian starlet Salim Musah will be out of action for several months after suffering from a serious hamstring muscle injury during the Germany U20 2026/27 U20 Elite League this month, according to his Bundesliga outfit SV Werder Bremen.

The promising budding star, who is set to undergo a surgery to correct the health anomaly, is expected to return to the pitch in 2027.

A club's statement over the Ghana-prospect centre-forward latest injury setback reads: ''Salim Musah suffered a serious injury to his left thigh while on international duty with the Germany U20s. The Green-Whites will therefore be without the 20-year-old striker for several months.''

Head Coach Daniel Thioune has expressed his sadness for the youngster's devastating disorder by telling his club's official website: ''It’s incredibly sad for Salim and I really feel for him. It’s also a massive blow to us as a team, as Salim had undergone a really strong development of late. Our doctors are currently in touch with the medical staff at the German FA in order to discuss any next steps. We will support Salim to the best of our abilities during his recovery. However, he will only be ready to return in the new year.''

Before sustaining the injury, Salim featured in 5 games across all competitions for The Green-Whites in this current campaign.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Oldenburg-born native remains eligible to switch nationality and represent Ghana at the senior level after figuring for the Germany U20 national youth team.
