The 19-year-old defensive midfielder of Ghanaian descent has extended his deal with the German second division side until the summer of 2025

Bundesliga 2 side Hamburger SV have handed contract extension deal to German-born Ghanaian youngster Elijah Akwasi Krahn, with the new deal being his first professional contract at the Volksparkstadion having rose through the youth team ranks.

The 1.84m tall midfield enforcer has impressed significantly in the  set-up of the main team ranks after witnessing some game time in the ongoing football season. 

Given his promising talent, sporting director Claus Costa was left impressed with the new deal of the 19-year-old prized asset with his outfit telling his club's official website: "Elijah is another example of the good youth work in our campus. He has developed step by step over the past few years and has already been able to gain his first experience at the professional level. Now it's a matter of confirming this for him and letting further steps follow."

Elijah added to his communications network: " l am very pleased to be given the chance to continue my path at HSV. I feel the trust of those responsible and would like to repay them."

He made his professional debut on 6 February 2022 against SV Darmstadt - a game he provided an assist in their 5-0 away victory over the opponent.

The Hamburg-born enforcer is still eligible to switch allegiance and play for Ghana on the international stage despite playing for the German U-16, U-17, U-18 & U-19 national youth teams.
