The veteran right-back of Ghanaian descent has been elevated to assume the administrative role and will be working hand in hand with the club's manager come next term
German Four Tier outfit FC Teutonia 05 Ottensen have appointed German-born Ghanaian defender Kevin Weidlich as the new Sporting Director, with the new role set to start next season.
The 34-year-old is being revered at the Hamburg-based club following his commitment, dedication and hardwork in discharging his duties on and off the pitch as an experienced versatile stopper.
And now, according to the Regionalliga Nord (lV) campaigners, the former FC St. Pauli youth star "will be significantly involved in the planning for the new season and will put together the squad together with coach Nabil Toumi" for the 2024/25 football season.
Club's chairman Liborio Mazzagatti had this to tell his communications network: "Kevin has proven himself to be a leader on and off the pitch in recent years. He contributed to our successes with his achievements. We are very happy that Kevin is staying with us. With his expertise and his large network, he is a great asset to us.”
Since joining them in 2021, Kevin has gone on to feature in 85 league games, scoring 12 in the process.
Born and bred in Hamburg to Ghanaian parents, Kevin is yet to earn his national cap with either the senior national team of Ghana or the Germany senior national team as he still remains eligible to represent both countries at the international level.
