German-Ghanaian attacking midfielder Moritz-Broni Kwarteng made a decisive impact off the bench to earn VfL Bochum a 1-1 draw against Arminia Bielefeld in their German Bundesliga 2 clash on Saturday.
The 28-year-old was introduced in the latter stages of the game but wasted little time in making his presence felt, scoring the equaliser shortly after coming on to secure a valuable away point for his side in Round 32.
Bochum had gone behind in the 27th minute when Joel Grodowski found the net to hand the hosts the advantage. The visitors pushed for a response but struggled to break down Arminia Bielefeld’s defence for much of the contest.
The turning point came following Kwarteng’s introduction in the 79th minute. Demonstrating composure and sharp attacking instinct, he struck to level the score and rescue Bochum from defeat, highlighting his growing reputation as a reliable impact substitute.
Kwarteng has now made 16 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga this season, contributing one goal and one assist. Since joining Bochum in 2023, he has played a supportive role within the squad, with his contract running until the summer of 2027.
