Moritz-Broni Kwarteng, a German-born Ghanaian midfielder, has secured a move to VfL Bochum, a German Bundesliga club.
The 25-year-old completed his transfer from FC Magdeburg, a team in the second-tier league. Kwarteng has inked a contract with Castroper Strabe that will keep him at the club until 2027.
Born in Stuttgart, Kwarteng honed his skills at renowned clubs like VfB Stuttgart, RB Leipzig, and TSG Hoffenheim.
He took his first steps in professional football with Hamburger SV, where he featured in 69 matches and made his debut in the second division of the Hanseatic League.
In total, Kwarteng accumulated 72 appearances for HSV, contributing 27 points during his tenure. It was in Magdeburg that he finally experienced a breakthrough.
During his time at FC Magdeburg, he played 43 competitive games and played a significant role in 23 goals.
Kwarteng's most notable achievements thus far have come with the Magdeburg team, including winning the third division championship and earning promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2021/22 season. He also secured the state cup in Saxony-Anhalt.
In the recently concluded 2022/23 season, the German-Ghanaian enjoyed a personal best, scoring ten goals and providing three assists in 29 second division matches.
