Ghanaian forward Emmanuel Boateng came off the bench and scored for Rio Ave against Farense in a crucial match in the Portuguese top division last Saturday.
Before Boateng came on, Rio Ave was losing the game. Farense had scored a goal in the 31st minute, giving them the lead at halftime.
Boateng's entrance into the game changed things. Just five minutes into the second half, he scored, helping Rio Ave equalize.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with no more goals scored after Boateng's equalizer.
Boateng's performance added to his impressive season stats: six goals and four assists in 20 games.
Despite his good performance, Boateng wasn't selected for the Ghana national team's matches against Nigeria and Uganda during the March international break.
