Ghana skipper Andre Ayew was on target for Le Havre in their away defeat to Clermont Foot in the French Ligue 1 on Sunday afternoon.

Ten-man Clermont Foot managed to secure a crucial 2-1 home win over Le Havre in their match-week 26 fixture at the Stade Gabriel Montpied.

Two-goal hero Muhammed-Cham Saracevic opened the scoring with a fine strike in the 12th minute before they were reduced to ten men when Elbasan Rashani received a red card for misconduct.

Ayew levelled the score on the stroke of halftime with a cool finish but the back line of Le Havre conceded once again before the break through Muhammed-Cham Saracevic.

The 34-year-old, who has been included in Ghana's 26-man squad list for this month's international friendlies against Nigeria and Uganda, lasted for 85 minutes of the contact before he was substituted.

Ayew has scored four goals in 13 appearances for Le Havre since joining the French club in November 2023.
