Ghana midfield dynamo, Majeed Ashimeru has set his sights on rebounding stronger into the Anderlecht set up in the upcoming season and secure a contract extension as his current deal will expire next year.
Despite Anderlecht enjoying their not-way-too-bad season in the 2023-24 Belgian Pro League, finishing third and qualifying for the Europa League, Ashimeru was a fringe player as a result of injury.
Since joining from RB Salzburg, Ashimeru has greatly impressed in 106 games, notching 8 goals and 5 assists.
He made 12 appearances in the 2023-24 season. Ashimeru sustained a calf injury during Ghana's Africa Cup of Nations group B game against Egypt in January this year.
Sporting director of Anderlecht Jesper Fredberg acknowledges Ashimeru's huge talent, saying; "Majeed has something special."
The 26-year-old is hopeful of more playing time, as there will be more games as a result of Anderlecht qualifying for Europe.
