Ghanaian international Thomas Partey earlier, has been ruled out of football until the end of the year and that's most likely to sideline him for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which will be held in Cote D'Ivoire.
This 29-year-old continues to stay out of action due to the recent thigh knock he sustained at training and that's almost his second injury since the commencement of the ongoing season.
The mercurial midfielder hasn't played since he returned from the last international window where he featured for the Black Stars in their 2-0 loss to the Tricolors of Mexico in a friendly.
His last active game for Arsenal was their crucial 1-0 win over champions Manchester City in the Premier League- a game he made a very huge impact after being introduced in the second half.
With high hopes of returning to action as quick as possible, fresh reports say Partey has suffered a setback in his recovery hence will miss the remainder of 2023.
Also, with his return date still not yet certain, the Black Stars vice captain is most likely to miss the next AFCON which is slated for early next year and will be a very huge blow for the four-time African champions.
Already, he's been ruled out of Ghana's opening two matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros scheduled to take place on November 17 and 21, 2023, in Kumasi and Moroni respectively.
