The 24-year-old is reportedly on his way out of the Portuguese side and is heading to the Chinese top-flight side if given a clean bill of health over his transfer deal

Chinese Super League side Wuhan Three Towns are set to sign Ghanaian forward Abdul-Aziz Yakubu from Portugal Primeira Liga side Rio Ave, with the centre-forward left out of the squad for Monday's league fixture 0-1 defeat to Sporting CP.

After failing to make a move to Egyptian side Al Ahly SC during the winter transfer window, the former V. Guimarães striker is now set to seal a move to other suitors, with the Chinese top-flight mooted to be his next destination.

A publication by O jogo has claimed that the transfer of the 24-year-old to Wuhan Three Towns ''could happen soon'' if he passes medical examination although other suitors are also in the frame for his signature.

Club's manager Luís Freire has confirmed talks of negotiation with interested clubs over the services of their frontman as being quoted by O jogo: ''There are negotiation processes. It can come out or not. We'll see soon. "We have to concentrate on the players we have. There are players with quality and with will.''

The former Vizela man has netted 9 times and provided 3 assists in 18 games for Rio Ave in the ongoing football season.

He is yet to be capped by Ghana at men's senior national team, the Black Stars.
