The former Ghana U20 skipper says he is looking forward to facing a new challenge at the Stadion Letzigrund outfit.

Ghana attacker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh has said that he cannot wait to make his debut for Swiss top-flight league side FC Zürich

Afriyie Barnieh sealed a lucrative move worth €150,000 to FC Zurich from Ghana Premier League giants Accra Hearts of Oak after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar

The 21-year-old expressed his readiness in a short interview with the club's media team after training with his new teammates for the first time in Zurich on Wednesday morning.

He arrived in Switzerland to begin life at FC Zurich earlier this week after Ghana's quarter final exit from the 2022 CHAN tournament in Algeria.

The enterprising forward will definitely be remembered in the Ghana Premier League following his outstanding and consistent high-level display for Hearts of Oak and won five trophies including the GPL which had eluded them for over a decade.

He captained the Black Satellites to the WAFU and African Youth Championship within that period and is now the captain of the Black Meteors who edged past Mozambique in the first phase of the Africa U-23 Championship qualifiers.

Barnieh, 21, made the Black Stars final squad for the just ended 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar
