Abdul Aziz Yakubu of Ghana showcased his goal-scoring prowess with a remarkable hat trick against Shenzhen FC in the Chinese Super League clash at the Shenzhen Bao'an Stadium on Monday afternoon.
Before the match, the head-to-head record between the two teams stood at Shenzhen FC with no wins, while Wuhan Three Towns had secured two victories, with no draws.
Yakubu started the game and made an impact until the 67th minute when he was substituted for Ademilson.
Throughout the 90 minutes, Wuhan Three Towns enjoyed a significant amount of possession, asserting their control on the match.
Shenzhen took the lead in the 26th minute through Frank Acheampong's header from close range, finding the center of the goal.
However, in the 36th minute, Abdul-Aziz Yakubu equalized for Wuhan Three Towns with a splendid left-footed shot from outside the box. His accurate strike found the bottom left corner of the net, assisted by Xie Pengfei.
Yakubu continued his stellar performance in the 61st minute, scoring his second goal from close range. The goal was expertly set up by Yan Dinghao with a well-executed headed pass.
Just two minutes later, Yakubu completed his hat trick, courtesy of a precise pass from Nicolae Stanciu.
This impressive display adds to Yakubu's recent goal-scoring form, as he has now netted a total of five goals in his last three games.
