Salis Abdul Samed, the Ghanaian international, has been nominated for the 2023 Marc Vivien Foé award due to his impressive performances for RC Lens in the French Ligue 1.

 

RC Lens are currently ranked second in the league standings. The 23-year-old midfielder has been exceptional this season and has made 29 appearances for his team, scoring one goal and providing one assist.

The Marc Vivien Foé award is presented to the best African player in Ligue 1 in a particular season, with the Ivorian midfielder and Lens captain Seko Fofana being the last recipient.

Abdul Samed is up against ten other players for the award, including Yunis Abdelhamid, Mama Balde, Mohammed Camara, Habib Diallo, Achraf Hakimi, Chancel Mbemba, Terem Moffi, Marshall Munetsi, and Hamari Traoré.
