Former Karela United and Kotoko midfielder, Umar Bashiru has been nominated for best player award in Ethiopia following his outstanding performance throughout the just ended season.
The 26 year old joined Insurance FC prior to the start of the season and had an impressive campaign though they couldn't have their hands gripped on the league title.
He quickly established himself as a mainstay in the team and subsequently got in the good books of the supporters with two goals and five assists in 27 appearances.
This has earned the lanky midfielder a huge recognition in the the Ethiopian topflight after being nominated for the prestigious Player of the Season award alongside six other nominees.
FC Insurance despite starting the season on a highest note missed out on the league title to St Georges after finishing 3rd on the league log with 49 points.
