The talented teenager of Ghanaian heritage has hinted at representing the European country at the national team level, with the set goal to be achieved at a given time
Eupen-born Ghanaian teen lbrahim Digberekou has stated that he is working gradually towards representing the Belgian national team in the near future.
The 18-year-old has been penciled down for greatness at both club and national team levels. However, calls from football fans and connoisseurs over his international cap with the European giants continue to be mooted given his promising display on the field of play as a rising prospect.
This, the Belgium U18 centre-back believes with time he would soon be drafted into the senior side as he is gradually working his way out to represent them on the international stage.
Asked about his readiness for the main team of the Red Devils, the bulky defender said to Belgian radio station BRF: " I'm working towards that [ representing the Belgium national team] one day and it will be like this."
Digberekou recently signed his first professional contract with Bundesliga outfit Borussia Mönchengladbach and is now looking forward to spending time with the U23 side after gaining promotion from the U19 set-up for the upcoming term.
"My next goal is to get used to men's football as quickly as possible. I'm currently preparing for the U23s. It's different from the U19s."
He could still be persuaded by the Ghana FA hierarchy to switch allegiance and play for Ghana on the international stage.
