The budding teenager of Nigerian heritage has penned his first official deal with the Amsterdam-based club, with his fresh terms set to take him through to 2028 at the Johan Cruijff ArenA

Dutch-born Nigerian starlet Jeshurun ​​Simeon has signed his first professional contract with Eredivisie heavyweights Ajax, the club have announced.

The 16-year-old, currently with the Ajax U19, has so far been magnificent in this season's U19 Division 1 Spring contest, with such stellar outings now attracting serious admiring glances from interested suitors among Europe's leading sides in an effort to snatch him from his childhood club in the summer.

A statement over his first PRO contract reads: ''Ajax has signed Jeshurun ​​Simeon. The sixteen-year-old forward has put his signature on a contract that runs until June 30, 2028. It is his first professional contract.

''Simeon (24 December 2009, Amsterdam) has been playing in the Ajax youth academy since the summer of 2020. He joined from partner club Fortuna Wormerveer at the time. Since then, he has progressed through several youth teams and is part of the Ajax U19 squad this season, which is led by Yuri Rose.''

Director of Football Marijn Beuker has told his club's official website: ''Jeshurun ​​is a player people come to the stadium to see. He adds a lot of speed to the team and with his dribbling he can make good use of the spaces in the opponent's half. Jeshurun ​​is a creative and goal-oriented player who can break open the game. We look forward to his further development and have confidence in a bright future for him in the Ajax shirt."

With his glowing talent, the Nigerian national football team technical team would now be compelled to start keeping a close eye on his progress at Ajax in a bid to secure his nationality switch at the senior level in the nearest future despite featuring for the Netherlands U15, U16 & U17 national youth teams.
