Ghanaian striker Felix Afena-Gyan has sealed a season-long loan switch to Turkish second-tier side Amedspor from Italian Serie B outfit US Cremonese.

The 21-year-old forward, once regarded as one of Ghana’s brightest attacking prospects, makes the move as he looks to revive his career and secure consistent playing time.

Afena-Gyan joined Cremonese in 2022 after breaking through at AS Roma, where he made headlines with his energetic displays under José Mourinho, including a memorable brace against Genoa in Serie A. However, injuries and limited opportunities hampered his progress in Italy.

Last season, the Black Stars striker was sent on loan to Juventus Next Gen, the Serie C development side of the Turin giants, where he gained valuable minutes but struggled to hit top form.

The move to Amedspor presents a new chapter in his career. Competing in the TFF First League, the ambitious Diyarbakır-based club are hoping Afena-Gyan’s pace, movement, and eye for goal will add firepower to their attack as they push for promotion to the Turkish Super Lig.

For the Ghanaian, this is a crucial opportunity to rediscover the form that once earned him a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
