Ghanaian youngster Douglas Owusu is on the verge of completing a major transfer to FC Viktoria Plzeň after an agreement was reached with Red Star Belgrade over his permanent move, according to Ghanasoccernet.
The deal is understood to be worth €3.3 million, with a further €1 million in performance-related add-ons, making it the most expensive signing in Viktoria Plzeň’s history.
Sources indicate that personal terms have already been agreed between the player and the Czech champions through his representatives, Do It Soccer Agency, finalising a key step in the transfer process.
Owusu is expected to travel next Tuesday for medical examinations before officially completing the move and signing a long-term contract with the club.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed a rapid rise in European football, establishing himself as one of Ghana’s most promising young attacking talents in Eastern Europe.
After an impressive spell at FK Radnik Surdulica, he earned a January move to Red Star, where he quickly integrated into Dejan Stanković’s squad and contributed significantly to their league-winning campaign.
Owusu finished the season with nine goals and one assist across his time at both Radnik and Red Star, underlining his growing influence in front of goal.
His performances attracted strong interest from several European clubs, but Viktoria Plzeň moved swiftly to secure his signature ahead of their rivals.
