Ghanaian-born goalkeeper David Akologo has been selected to join the Bolivia national team for their upcoming friendlies scheduled for March, marking a significant milestone in his football career.

Initially approached by the Bolivian Football Federation in August 2023, Akologo has been residing in Bolivia since 2020. His eligibility for naturalization aligns with Bolivia's nationality law, which requires a foreign resident to have lived continuously in the country for at least three years.

Despite his Ghanaian heritage, Akologo's football journey has led him to Bolivia, where he has showcased his talent with impressive performances for Club Deportivo Aurora.

During his youth, Akologo was invited to represent the Ghana U20 team, demonstrating his skill and potential on the international stage.

Now, with his call-up to the Bolivia national team, Akologo has the opportunity to solidify his status as a formidable goalkeeper on the global football scene.

Akologo's football career in Bolivia began in January 2020 when he joined Cochabamba FC after departing Nigerian club Mighty Jets FC. Following a season with Cochabamba, he made a move to Aurora, where he continued to excel.

After brief stints at CD Enrique Happ and Club Deportivo FATIC, Akologo returned to Aurora in January 2023, further establishing himself as a key player.

With his selection for the Bolivia national team, Akologo is now in contention to make his senior international debut when Bolivia takes on Algeria and Andorra in the Inaugural FIFA Series later this March.
