Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu has shed light on the factors that influenced his decision to join Stade Rennais, revealing that his close relationship with Kamaldeen Sulemana played a significant role in his choice.
Kamaldeen Sulemana, currently with Southampton, previously played for Stade Rennais between 2021 and 2023, making a notable impact in Ligue 1. Alidu Seidu, who completed a transfer from Clermont Foot to Stade Rennais for a reported fee of around €11 million, expressed his strong bond with Sulemana and his positive relationship with Christopher Wooh.
“I'm very close to Kamaldeen Sulemana, and I get on very well with Christopher Wooh. The rest of the players I've met on Ligue 1 pitches, and I'm sure things will go well in the dressing room,” Seidu shared in an interview with the club’s official website.
Having wrapped up his mandatory medical checks after returning from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where his playing time was limited, the versatile 23-year-old has committed to a four-year contract, extending until 2028.
The move signifies Seidu's belief in the camaraderie within the team and the potential for success at Stade Rennais.
