German-born Ghanaian defender Derrick Kohn grabbed his maiden goal for Werder Bremen against Mainz 05 in the German Bundesliga on Sunday afternoon.
Ten-man Werder Bremen managed to record a 2-1 away win over the Red and White lads in the German Bundesliga match-week four clash at the MEWA Arena.
Kohn, who is on loan at Werder Bremen from Galatasaray, made a cameo appearance and made an instant impact with his match-winning goal to hand his side the important away win.
Bremen opened the scoring through Marvin Ducksch after connecting perfectly from the spot, eight minutes into the game.
Mainz 05 responded with an equalizer in the 27th minute mark through Jae-Sung Lee as the first half ended in a scoring draw.
Kohn, who had replaced Felix Agu in the 67th minute, brilliantly registered his name on the score sheet with a fine strike to send the fans of Werder Bremen to a jubilant mood.
He joined the Bundesliga outfit on a season-long loan from Turkish Super Lig heavyweights Galatasaray in the recently ended summer transfer window.
