German Bundesliga 2 side FC Kaiserslautern has officially completed the signing of Ghanaian defender Frank Ronstadt.
The 26-year-old arrives from Bundesliga club SV Darmstadt 98, seeking more playing time after featuring in only four appearances with his previous team.
While the club's announcement didn't disclose the duration of Ronstadt's contract, it highlighted the reinforcement of their defensive lineup during the winter break of the ongoing season.
"The 1. FC Kaiserslautern is not only strengthening its offensive lineup during the winter break of the current season: Frank Ronstadt is transferring from the Bundesliga club SV Darmstadt 98 to the Palatinate and is expected to bolster the defense," stated the club.
Born in Hamburg, Ronstadt's early football journey took shape in the youth academies of FC St. Pauli and Hamburger SV. He signed his first professional contract with third-division club Würzburger Kickers, achieving promotion to the Second Bundesliga.
A year later, Ronstadt made the move to SV Darmstadt 98, contributing to 37 games over two seasons in the lower league and playing a role in their promotion last summer.
