Germany-born Ghanaian defender Gideon Jung delivered a standout performance for Greuther Fürth on Sunday, marking a strong start to the season.

 

The 29-year-old played the full match as Greuther Fürth secured a 3-1 victory over Preußen Münster in their German Bundesliga 2 opener. Jung contributed to the win with a goal, helping his team begin the campaign on a high note.

 

Julian Green opened the scoring for Greuther Fürth in the 25th minute, but Malik Batmaz equalized for Preußen Münster just four minutes before halftime. The teams went into the break level at 1-1.

 

In the second half, Greuther Fürth took control, with Dennis Srbeny restoring their lead five minutes after the restart. Jung then sealed the win with a goal in the 55th minute.

 

Jung will aim to maintain his impressive form throughout the 2024/25 season as Greuther Fürth seeks promotion to the Bundesliga.
