The ex-Hamburger SV defender could sever ties with the German Second-Tier outfit in the upcoming summer transfer window given his below par performances so far this season

German-born Ghanaian centre-back Gideon Jung is set to part ways with German 2.Bundesliga side Greuther Fürth, with his current deal set to expire in June this year.

The 30-year-old defender has struggled for form so far this season, with the arrivals of fellow compatriot of Ghanaian root Joshua Quarshie and Swiss defender Noah Loosli relegating him to the bench at the Sportpark Ronhof Thomas Sommer Stadium in this ongoing football campaign.

lt's understood that Jung and Greuther Fürth have already come to a consensus to part ways with each other in the summer.

He has so far featured in 19 games by scoring and assisting once for the Fürth-based club in this current 2024-25 football season.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Düsseldorf-born defender still remains fit to play for Ghana on the international stage having played for the Germany U21 national youth team.
