Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Godfried Frimpong has completed a move to Turkish Super Lig side Kasimpasa, signing a two-year contract with an option for an additional year from Portuguese outfit Moreirense.

The 26-year-old former Benfica left-back has already linked up with his new teammates as the club steps up preparations for the upcoming season.

Kasimpasa confirmed the deal in an official statement:

“Our new transfer, Godfried Frimpong, signed a contract binding him to Kasimpasa for 2+1 years at the signing ceremony held at our Turgay Ciner Sports Facilities, following his check-ups at our health sponsor Liv Hospital Vadi Istanbul. We welcome our new signing, Frimpong, and wish him success!”

Frimpong, who has represented the Netherlands at youth level but remains eligible to play for the Black Stars, is expected to bring pace and defensive solidity to Kasimpasa’s backline.

He could make his competitive debut in the Super Lig opener against Trabzonspor on Monday, August 18, 2025.
