English-born Ghanaian defender Jarell Quansah registered his first goal for Bayer Leverkusen in their home defeat to TSG Hoffenheim in the German Bundesliga opener.
Quansah, who arrived at the Bundesliga outfit from English champions Liverpool this summer, was on target, but his strike wasn't enough as his side succumbed to a 2-1 defeat.
Leverkusen threw away their one-goal lead as the club fell short to Hoffenheim in a high-stake clash held at the BayArena on Saturday.
The 22-year-old, who started in defence in a three-back system, headed home the opening goal just six minutes into the game.
In the 25th minute, the visitors snatched the equaliser through Fisnik Asllani as both teams went to the halftime break with a scoring draw.
Hoffenheim found the back of the net to have a 2-1 lead through Tim Lemperle, and with no additional goal, the visitors cruised to victory to pick up the three maximum points.
Quansah joined Erik Ten Hag's side on a long-term contract from Premier League heavyweights Liverpool for €35 million this summer.
