The versatile defender of Ghanaian origin has doffed hat for the Merseyside outfit amidst strong interest from their sworn domestic league rivals in the English top-flight

Joining Liverpool FC would be great as it's a great club with history, says Jeremie Frimpong.

The 21-year-old right-back, who is currently plying his trade with German Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen, has been a hot transfer prospect among Europe's elite division sides - with Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Liverpool all being linked with his services during the winter transfer window.

With this latest positive assertion towards his pursuit by the English giants, the former Manchester City youth product could link up with the Anfield Stadium campaigners in the next summer transfer window.

In revealing his admiration for the Reds, the former Celtic man told Ziggo Sport when pressed to comment on the speculation regarding the link over his possible move to the Merseyside outfit next term: "Great club with history. That would be great. Who knows what the future will bring."

His current deal with Bayer Leverkusen will be up in 2028 and per his market valuation, suitors must cough up €40m if they are to land him next summer.

He has so far featured in 21 games, scoring 7 and assisting 7 in the ongoing Bundesliga 23/24 football season.

Frimpong has earned 1 international cap with the Netherlands senior national team.
