With an agreement over contract extension between both parties now on the cards, the manager is now living with excitement for having their prized jewel of Ghanaian heritage
FC Köln manager Tim Schultz has said he's "glad to have" German-born Ghanaian teenager Justin Diehl at his disposal given his talent as an upcoming youngster.
The 19-year-old, whose current deal with the RheinEnergieStadion outfit will expire in June this year, was billed to sever ties with the Köln-based club and link up with fellow Bundesliga sides Bayer Leverkusen or VfB Stuggart on a free transfer in the summer.
However, a report filed by German tabloid espress.de has indicated that the Ghana-prospect teenager is set to ink a new deal after a marathon of negotiations over contract extension with his boyhood club.
Given his splendid showings with cameo appearances in the top-flight so far, the man in charge of the dugout at the RheinEnergieStadion is now on cloud nine to have such a promising talent in his fold, telling EXPRESS.de: "He is someone who takes his heart in both hands, goes one-on-one and just keeps going. He brings that certain attitude to the pitch. That's what defines him, that's his great strength. I’m glad I have him."
Diehl has so far featured in 4 league games for FC Koln in the ongoing Bundesliga 23/24 football campaign.
He still remains eligible to switch allegiance and represent Ghana on the international stage despite playing for the Germany U16, U18, U19 & U20 national youth teams.
