The 29-year-old defender of Ghanaian descent is hell-bent on penning fresh terms with the Nature Energy Park campaigners, with his current running terms set to expire in the summer

Dutch-born Ghanaian defender Leeroy Owusu has expressed his determination to extend his contract with Danish Superliga side Odense BK as he awaits his employers to open discussions over a new deal between both parties.

The former Ajax U17 youth star, who joined up with De Stribede in 2022, has proven to be an ever-present figure at the Odense-based club given his impressive output so far in Danish top-flight.

Following his strike in their 1-1 draw game against Vejle Boldklub on Friday, the experienced right-back has once again reiterated his desire to continue plying his trade with OB as his running contract is set to expire on June 30,2026.

''There's nothing new, so you have to talk to him (Sporting director, Troels Bech) about it,'' the former Willem ll man said when asked about his contract extension talks with the newly-promoted Danish top division outfit to BOLD.

''Yes, I'm happy here, but when I don't have anything to deal with, I can't make a decision, so it's not a question for me. I haven't heard from him since last time,'' he added.

Given his Ghanaian heritage, the Purmerend-born defender still remains fit to represent Ghana on the international stage despite playing for The Netherlands national youth teams.
