Ghanaian defender Maxwell Woledzi played a crucial role in Fredrikstad FK's historic Norwegian Cup victory, ending the club’s 18-year trophy drought.

The 22-year-old center-back was instrumental in Fredrikstad’s triumph over Molde in a thrilling final at Ullevaal Stadion, where they clinched the title with a 5-4 penalty shootout win after a goalless draw in regular time.

Woledzi featured in six matches during the Cup run, contributing significantly to the team’s resilience and success. Across all competitions, he made 35 appearances for the club in the 2023/24 season.

In the Eliteserien, Woledzi showcased his defensive prowess, ranking second in interceptions (54) while helping Fredrikstad FK finish the league with the third-best defensive record.

Having joined the club in August 2023 on a deal running through the summer of 2026, Woledzi has quickly established himself as a key figure in Fredrikstad's lineup.
