Ghana defender Maxwell Woledzi has been named Fredrikstad’s 2025 Player of the Year, a fitting reward after a brilliant and highly consistent campaign from the 24-year-old centre-back.

Woledzi featured in 37 matches across all competitions, earning widespread praise for his reliability, leadership, and defensive authority. He was instrumental in Fredrikstad’s resurgence this season, helping the club win the Norway Cup for the first time in 18 years and securing a spot in the Eliteserien Team of the Year.

The former FC Nordsjaelland and Vitória Guimarães B defender joined Fredrikstad in 2023 on a contract running until December 2026. Since his arrival, he has developed into one of the club’s most influential players, standing out with his aerial strength, intelligent positioning, and composure under pressure.

Woledzi’s market value is currently estimated at €2.2 million, and his performances have attracted growing interest. MLS side Nashville SC are reported to have submitted a bid, with Fredrikstad expected to evaluate the offer in the coming days as more clubs keep a close eye on the Ghanaian’s future.
