Ghanaian pair Maxwell Woledzi and Prince Osei Owusu have been named in the MLS Team of the Week following standout performances for their respective clubs on matchday eight.
The duo played key roles as Nashville SC and CF Montréal secured important victories over the weekend.
Woledzi delivered an assured defensive performance to help Nashville SC keep a clean sheet in their 2-0 win over Atlanta United, maintaining their strong position at the top of the Eastern Conference.
Osei Owusu, meanwhile, was one of the standout performers of the round, contributing to three goals in Montreal’s emphatic 4-1 victory over the New York Red Bulls. His impressive display saw him narrowly miss out on the Player of the Week award, which went to Lionel Messi.
The MLS Team of the Week also features notable names including Petar Musa (FC Dallas), Kristijan Kahlina (Charlotte FC), and Jefferson Díaz (Minnesota United), alongside Olwethu Makhanya (Philadelphia Union), Ousseni Bouda (San Jose Earthquakes), Diego Luna (Real Salt Lake), Cristian Roldan (Seattle Sounders), and Sergi Solans (Real Salt Lake).
Another Ghanaian, Joseph Paintsil, was also recognized for his performance, earning a place on the bench in the Team of the Week.
