Ghanaian internationals, Razak Abalora and Patrick Kpodo, were in action as Moldovan champions FC Sheriff Tiraspol beat Bosnian giants Zrinjski by 1-0 to advance into the next round of UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
The first leg of the qualifying round between the sides ended in a goalless drawn game in Bosnia last week.
The former Asante Kotoko shot-stopper kept the post as he recorded yet another clean sheet to help Sheriff Tiraspol to victory like he did in the first leg.
The 24-year-old Patrick Kpodo marshalled the left-back for Stjepan Tomas side in a scintillating fashion as he lasted the entire duration of the game.
Sheriff Tiraspol played in the group stages of the Champions league last season, stunning eventual champions Real Madrid in the group stages at the Bernabeu by 2-1.
Sheriff Tiraspol finished on-top of the Moldovan league with seventy points last season to be crowned winners.
The Yellow ana Blacks will take on the winner between Maribor and Shakhtyor Soligorsk in the second round of the UEFA champions league qualifying stage.
